About Canadian Made Finds
I check where things are really made, so you can buy Canadian with confidence.
I’m a Calgary guy who spent years in parts and purchasing, where my job was knowing exactly where things come from and who makes them. When I started trying to buy more Canadian, I found the same problem everywhere: a maple leaf on the box doesn’t mean it was made here.
So I started checking. Canadian Made Finds is where I share what I find: gifts, everyday products and small-batch gems that are actually made in Canada.

How I check every product
Before anything goes on this site, I check the label or the maker’s own website. Here’s what the labels mean, based on Competition Bureau of Canada guidelines:
| Label | What it means |
|---|---|
| Product of Canada | At least 98% Canadian content. The strongest claim. |
| Made in Canada | At least 51% Canadian content, and it should say it includes imported parts. |
| Canadian-owned or based in Canada | The company is Canadian, but the product may be made somewhere else. |
I only feature products that are made in Canada or a Product of Canada. If something is Canadian-owned but made overseas, it doesn’t make the list. When a product uses imported ingredients, like coffee beans, I say so.

Companies change factories and owners. If something here is no longer made in Canada, please let me know at [your email] and I’ll fix it.
